By Walbert Castillo on December 2, 2014

In a recent ranking done by Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business placed first in full-time masters of business administration (MBA) programs. Ever since 1988, the Bloomberg BusinessWeek has continually surveyed schools striving to select the top full-time MBA schools in the world.

With this year being the 14th biennial ranking, the ranking was conducted with approximately 1,300 recruiters from 85 full-time MBA United States colleges and 27 full-time MBA international colleges. All of the recruiters were asked to rate schools on how well their graduate students performed in the areas significant to their employers.

For the first time in history, Harvard’s business school placed outside of the top five. In the previous ranking, Harvard’s business school was No. 2; however, in the 2014 ranking, Harvard was No. 8.

According to BusinessWeek, “Harvard’s Business University scored lowest among the top 10 business schools on its atmosphere for women and racial and religious minorities.” Harvard has declined to answer any questions in regards to this subject.

Western University’s Ivey School of Business (Canada) ranked No. 1 on the international scale on Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s ranking right next to Intentional Excellence (IE) University’s IE Business School (Madrid).
